Discover Bioeconomy with BioBeo

What is bioeconomy?

The EU defines bioeconomy as the use of “renewable biological resources from land and sea, like crops, forests, fish, animals and micro-organisms to produce food, materials and energy.”

What is BioBeo?

BioBeo is a two-and-a-half-year project that aims to develop and deploy educational initiatives to enhance engagement across society regarding lifestyle, circularity and bioeconomy, using 5 bioeconomy themes:

  • Interconnectedness

  • Outdoor Learning

  • Forestry

  • Life Below Water

  • The Food Loop

The 15 partners of the project are all working towards developing various resources and initiatives to support the adoption of lifestyles that are more sustainable and in line with the bioeconomy. This means engaging everyone - from individual students and teachers to parents and the wider community.
